Public Notice - Proposed Update to Cemetery By-law 2022-0063

December 16, 2024

Council will consider an update and replacement of the Cemetery By-law at a future Council meeting
which will impact all municipal owned cemeteries, including current active cemeteries known as
Roblin Cemetery at 3136 Highway 41, Roblin; Riverview Cemetery at 336 Dundas Street W,
Napanee; Riverside Cemetery at 334 Church Street, Napanee; and Sandhill Cemetery at 5950
County Road 9, Napanee. Regular Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of
each month, and the agendas are made available to the public on the preceding Thursday.

Proposed updates to the Cemetery By-law will provide clarity and include requirements for the re-sale
of interment rights, transfer of interment rights, adding additional interment right holders, permissions
required regarding markers, monuments, foundations and installation, and arranging a casket/urn
burial.
