Dates and Deadlines

Interim and final tax instalment due dates are the last Friday in February, April, June and September. If you are a new property owner, or have not received a bill, we can send you a copy upon notification. All current year assessment appeals are processed after the final billing. Failure to receive your property tax notice does not prevent you from incurring penalty charges.

Forms

  • Section 357/358 Application - this form provides municipalities with the authority to cancel, reduce and refund taxes based on specific criteria. Only the property owner, the spouse of the owner, tenant, occupant or other person(s) in possession of the land may file an application for a property tax adjustment with the treasurer of the municipality.

  • Taxes Pre-authorized Payment (PAP) Plan Application - an electronic payment service that provides you or your business with a predictable and cost-effective way to budget tax payments.

Often, after a final billing, a mortgage company will readjust the tax payment portion of the mortgage to account for either a surplus or deficit in your mortgage tax account. We would like to remind you that this adjustment is not necessarily always because your property tax has increased or decreased from the previous year, but may be because the mortgage company was either not originally collecting enough for the monthly payment, or was collecting too much.

If you have questions about the property tax adjustment on your mortgage account, contact your mortgage company first - they should be able to provide the primary cause behind any payment adjustments.
