This department oversees Council/staff relations, provides corporate leadership and support to staff, performs legislative planning and logistics, coordinates corporate communications and engagement, oversees contracted legal services, and supports human resources related activities and initiatives.

This department oversees financial management of the organization including financial reporting, budget development, procurement, financial planning, and ongoing financial support to staff and council. This department also oversees the general financial transactions, which includes taxation, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and customer service.

Additionally, this department oversees information technology systems, application implementation, GIS, and overall technology support.

This department ensures a composite fire department is in place that meets community needs and circumstances, providing the following core services from three fire station locations:

• Fire suppression, fire prevention, and fire safety education
• Mitigation and prevention of the risk created by the presence of unsafe levels of carbon monoxide and safety education related to the presence of those levels
• Rescue and emergency services
• Providing communication in respect to anything described above
• Training of persons involved in providing any fire protection service as approved by Council

Growth & Infrastructure provides recommendations to Council related to all aspects of community growth and development while ensuring developments are compliant with applicable legislation. This department manages and operates infrastructure assets to ensure continuity of service to residents and compliance with applicable legislation in addition to contract administration for capital renewal programs.

Additionally, this department oversees utilities, the curbside collection contract for garbage and recycling services for the community, manages municipal landfill operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation and the protection of human and aquatic health, and is responsible for the long term planning of water and wastewater related infrastructure and preparing for the future of waste disposal in our community.

Parks, Recreation & Culture is responsible for the operations and maintenance of parks, trails, and facilities, community programming, cemeteries administration and maintenance, downtown beautification, and building maintenance. This department also oversees corporate and community events.
