Transit

The Town of Greater Napanee is pleased to offer a transit system in conjunction with Deseronto Transit. The fixed route system connects the Town of Greater Napanee, Town of Deseronto, Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, and the City of Belleville. 

The objective of the service is to provide residents with affordable and reliable transportation for those that need to commute, attend medical and specialist appointments, access essential and non-essential services, and to travel within the communities to visit family and friends.

On January 9th, 2024, the Town of Deseronto transitioned the Deseronto Transit Service to a weekday scheduled transit route, serving the Belleville to Greater Napanee corridor. The service provides transportation via a 16-18 passenger bus equipped with accessible passenger seating daily from 5:00 am until 7:00 pm. Residents will experience longer wait times due to Deseronto Transit servicing a large area.

Grant funding to initiate a public transportation system has been made available and approved through the County of Lennox and Addington for an amount of $186,000, to be used prior to March 31, 2025. The pilot project does not require the expenditure of any locally derived funds (i.e. taxes/levies) from the residents of Greater Napanee.

Individual tickets and monthly passes are available for sale at the Town of Greater Napanee Administrative Offices at 99 Advance Avenue or the Strathcona Paper Centre at 16 McPherson Drive in Greater Napanee. Tickets and passes will also be available at the Deseronto Town Hall at 331 Main Street.
