Please be advised that there will be a Crossing Guard stationed at the pedestrian crossover at the intersection of County Road 8 and James Street in front of Southview Public School, beginning Monday, November 9, 2020. The Crossing Guard will be present on school days from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to assist students crossing County Road 8 on their way to and from school.

During the school year the Town also has Crossing Guards stationed at the following school crossings from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on school days:

• Centre Street and Graham Street Intersection
• Belleville Road and Graham Street Intersection
• Belleville Road and Thomas Street Intersection
• Bridge Street and West Street Intersection

Motorists, including cyclists, must stop their vehicles before reaching the school crossing and remain stopped until the Crossing Guard and all persons being crossed have cleared the street and the Crossing Guard has indicated that it is safe to proceed. Failure to stop for a Crossing Guard can result in fines.
